Maisie Smith Is Under Investigation By BBC Bosses For Allegedly Singing A Contract With Tiktok EastEnders star Maisie Smith’s future at the soap could be in jeopardy as she has reportedly signed a deal to promote artists on her TikTok.
The 19 year old soap actress plays Tiffany Butcher on EastEnders but her future on the soap could be in jeopardy she is said to have broken her contract by signing a deal to promote brands on TikTok.
It’s been claimed the bosses are “angry” and “extremely disappointed” after Maisie was reported to been offered a huge sum by a leading record label to post their artists’ tracks over clips of her videos.
Maisie, who regularly shares videos on TikTok, has allegedly asked EastEnders chiefs if she could accept a similar contract in the past, but was forbidden due to the strict clauses into her BBC contract.
An insider told The Sun Online: “EastEnders do not take matters like this lightly. There’s no blanket rule on deals, and they take each case on its own merit.
“But if they’re asked if it’s OK and the star is told ‘No’, they take a very dim view about it then happening. Paired up with the incident a few weeks ago, it doesn’t look good.
“She will be spoken to in no uncertain terms and told it will not happen again.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the soap told OK! online: “We are looking into this matter.”
It comes weeks after Maisie was photographed smoking a hand-rolled cigarette, which resembled the shape of a cannabis cigarette.
Maisie was snapped smoking behind the wheel of her car while her car was pulled over from a road in Essex last month.
The cigarette was reported to be “strong smelling”, according to The Sun.
Maisie is said to have “quickly drove off” as a police car pulled into the area, which is a former waste tip.
Former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh later slammed Maisie after the snaps surfaced.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, Kym said: “Actress Maisie Smith, who plays Tiffany Butcher in EastEnders, has been pictured smoking what reports say looks like cannabis while behind the wheel of her car. This was a really silly thing to do, if true.
“We all make mistakes and do things wrong, and hopefully this is something Maisie will learn from as she’s only 19.”
The soap star added: “When you’re in a soap, you have to remember that you have an influence on others – especially younger people – and you have to set an example.
“You are an ambassador for your show, so you have to make sure you uphold its values. I can’t imagine she will get away with it lightly.”
